NCCF awards 11 local non-profits with Fall Community Grants

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) has awarded $33,665 to 11 different non-profit organizations through its Fall 2011 Community Grants Program. The Community Grants Program is a biannual program that awards grants to non-profit organizations seeking funds to improve the northern Chautauqua County community.
A volunteer committee of community representatives thoroughly reviews each application submitted to the program. In most cases, site visits are performed as well.
The committee then prepares recommendations to the NCCF Board of Directors. Current Grants Committee members include Jack D’Agostino, Rose Ann Falcone, Nick Holt, James Holton, JoAnn Kaufman, Kathy Kaus, Priscilla Koch, Kristine Morabito, Deborah Pacos, John Rawlinson, Alberto Rey, Jerry Rocque and Monica White. Rose Ann Falcone serves as chairman of the committee and Peter Clark is the NCCF President.
Applications that have been approved by the NCCF Board of Directors to receive a grant follow:
- Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse for Maritime Building Handicapped Doorway Roof Installation;
- Child Advocacy Program for Media Campaign and Expenses for North County Program;
- WNY Rural Area Health Education Center for Student Housing Furnishings;
- Chautauqua Striders for Program Supplies and Laptop Computer;
- NorthLake Family Recreation Center for a Facility Tractor;
- Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation for a Differential Cell Counter;
- Buffalo Speech and Hearing Center for Voice Amplification Systems;
- Centaur Stride for Maintenance Equipment;
- Dunkirk Historical Society for Masonry and Roof Repair;
- Family Services for a Program Laptop Computer;
- SUNY Center For Regional Advancement for Artist Professional Development and Trainings.
