Grant Seeking Basics Offered

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) in conjunction with the Darwin R. Barker Library (Barker), Lake Shore Savings, Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System, James Prendergast Library and SUNY Community Outreach Partnership Center are offering free Grant Seeking Basics training. The training will be held on Wednesday April 29, 2009 at the Darwin R. Barker Library (7 Day Street, Fredonia.)
There will be two components to the training, “Utilizing the Foundation Directory Online Date Base” and “Basic Grantwriting”.
Two sessions of Foundation Center Online Data Base Training will be offered, one at 9:00 a.m. and one at 12:30 p.m.. Basic Grantwriting will be offered to all participants at 10:30 am. Lunch will be provided.
Megan Disbro, Software Training and Web Specialist Librarian from the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System, will teach how to search the comprehensive Foundation Directory Online Data Base. The grant writing portion will be conducted by Sherry Lantz, Director of SUNY Fredonia’s Community Outreach Partnership Center.
Darwin R. Barker Library now provides visitors with free public access to the Foundation Center’s “Foundation Directory Online” database. The fully searchable database includes detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation’s top funders.
