Adopt a bicycle event in April
Wednesday, April 06, 2011
Spoke Folk, in collaboration with the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, will be holding a “Bicycle Bonanza” April 16 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and 17 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.).
Those attending will be encouraged to adopt a refurbished bicycle. The bikes available range from vintage to almost new.
Adult, children’s and specialty bikes could be adopted for your own pleasure or could be donated to a local charity which serves youth in need.
Spoke Folk’s Bicycle Bonanza will highlight their slogan “Building a healthier community one bicycle at a time.” All of the bicycles will be on display and are up for adoption. Free clinics for those who would like to learn how to fix, clean, and tune-up the bicycles they already own will be offered as well.
The event will be held at Spoke Folk’s facility on the corner of 5th Street and Central Avenue in Dunkirk, NY. Admission to the event is free and all are welcome to attend.
Additional activities are in the works. There will be something for everyone, whether you are interested in adopting a bicycle or just want to learn more about health and safety.
