Summit Lodge No. 219, Free and Accepted Masons has established an endowed scholarship fund at the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF). The “Beacon Award” has been awarded by the Lodge since 2003. By endowing the fund with the NCCF, the Lodge ensures that the award will continue for years to come.

Beginning in 2010, two awards will be presented annually; one will be presented to a student graduating from the Ripley Central School District and one will be presented to a student graduating from Westfield Academy and Central School. Awards will be presented to graduating seniors who have exemplified community service in a noteworthy manner. Service is a key purpose for a Mason.

Freemasonry is the oldest and largest world wide fraternity. Summit Lodge No. 219 has been serving the Westfield and Ripley area of Chautauqua County since 1851. To learn about Freemasonry, visit www.nymasons.org/cms.

The NCCF was established in 1986. The organization is committed to promoting local philanthropy and to improving the community. Over the past 23 years, the NCCF has distributed over $7.3 million within the community in the form of grants and scholarships. For more information on the community foundation, visit www.nccfoundation.or
