NCCF Acknowledges Gift from Local Artist

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) recognizes the generosity of Sara Baker Michalak, a local artist with a passion for the environment, for her recent donation. Earlier this year the Fredonia Technology Incubator was host to her latest show: Metaphysical, an exhibition of mixed media paintings and collages. Sara donated a portion of the sales from this exhibit to the NCCF’s Northern Chautauqua Environmental Fund.

NCCF AWARDS 2019 SPRING GRANTS

The Board of Directors of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation recently approved 17 grants from two programs totaling $69,389. Both the Community Grants Program and the Community Pride Program are funded through the NCCF’s 70 Community Benefit Funds. Individuals, families, and organizations who have a strong interest in the well-being of the community have established these endowed funds.

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is proud to show support for Corporate Philanthropy Day, February 26. On this day we show our gratitude to the many local businesses for their contributions to our community.

Corporate Philanthropy refers to the charitable contributions and community service activities a company voluntarily undertakes to improve society. We appreciate the businesses that have invested in NCCF and our community through financial contributions, donations of products, in-kind services and technical assistance, employee volunteerism, and other business transactions.

The mission of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is to enrich the area where we live and work. Since its establishment in 1986, the NCCF has been at the forefront of local philanthropy, strategic grantmaking, and community leadership. By providing the means for our neighbors to give back to the community, NCCF is building for tomorrow, today. With over $23.8 million in assets, the NCCF distributes more than $800,000 each year in grants and scholarships, all to better northern Chautauqua County.

Celebrating corporate philanthropy raises awareness of corporate-community partnerships and inspires businesses around the world to engage further in the well-being of their community. NCCF extends its gratitude for the support of businesses in northern Chautauqua County.

NCCF Encourages Charitable Holiday Gift Giving

Have you already started your holiday gift list?  There may be an option that you haven’t considered.

More and more, people are reconsidering their gift giving traditions.  As they follow the news and look around their communities, they realize that their blessings far exceed those of others People are replacing gifts of jewelry, clothing, and electronics with donations to youth programs and food pantries and visits to those who are lonely during the holidays.  Rather than fighting the crowds on Black Friday or becoming frustrated with slow internet connections on Cyber Monday, these individuals shop in the spirit of Giving Tuesday (this year November 29th), a day dedicated to charitable gift giving. 

NCCF Invites Public to Community Foundation Week Celebration

During the week of November 12-18, 2016, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) celebrates Community Foundation Week along with over 780 community foundations in the United States. Community foundations take advantage of this yearly celebration to raise awareness about the importance of fostering local collaboration in communities and innovation to address local civic and economic opportunities and challenges. As NCCF celebrates 30 years of community enrichment, staff and volunteers strive to meet the ever-changing needs of northern Chautauqua County.

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Dunkirk High School Class of 1989 Memorial Scholarship Fund. Members of the Class of 1989 originally established this scholarship in 2014 as a way to honor deceased classmates.
