Service Learning Mini-Grants Program

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) established the Service-Learning Mini-Grants program in the fall of 2013. As defined by the National Service-Learning Clearinghouse, service-learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.

Through the establishment  of a mini-grant program, NCCF works with middle and high school teachers in northern Chautauqua County to bring community service opportunities into the classroom.

•    Projects must include a community service component and a related learning component.

•    The majority of the awards will be $500 or less.

•    Funding is available for equipment, materials, technology, transportation, speakers and similar items.

•    Funding is not available for salaries.
