Community Encouraged to Submit Nominations for the NCCF’s Footprints Award

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is currently accepting nominations for the George B. Weaver Jr. Footprints Award. The public is encouraged to honor the contributions and achievements of those making a difference in northern Chautauqua by submitting a Footprints nomination.

Since the pandemic began in early 2020, we all have seen the good that happens in our community as neighbors take care of neighbors. Please look around your neighborhood and submit a nomination for someone who’s hours as well as dollars donated are worthy of recognition – someone who has left those footprints that we should all strive to follow. It is not a requirement that nominees have an affiliation with the NCCF.

“We encourage community members to nominate those who are passionate about northern Chautauqua and who consistently demonstrate their passion by selflessly giving of their own time and funds,” says Diane Hannum, NCCF’s Executive Director.

Your nominee should have a strong history of volunteerism, philanthropic endeavors (financial support not necessarily measured in number of dollars), and activities that have impacted the community and enhanced the social and cultural climate of northern Chautauqua County. Our past recipients include George B. Weaver Jr.; Dallas Beal; Robert Maytum; Jim & Carol Boltz; Donald Q. Eno; the founding NCCF Board of Directors & the first elected Board of Directors; Richard S. Johnson; Edwin L. Hamlet; Doug & Ann Manly; Richard Anson; Steve & Helen Baran; Steve & Sue Cobb; Dick & Carmen Gilman; Wayne, Elaine & Laurel Hotelling, James & Marcia Merrins, Alona Forbes, and Peter D. Clark.

Due to the pandemic, NCCF did not present the award in 2020. All nominations that we received last year are held over for 2021.

We encourage all community members to submit a name for the committee’s consideration. To submit a nomination by mail, call our office to have a form sent to you (716-366-4892) or download the from our website www.nccfoundation.org/footprints-award. You can also use the online form to submit your nomination electronically. Nominations are due to NCCF by March 25, via mail at 212 Lake Shore Drive W., Dunkirk, NY 14048, by fax to 716-366-3905 or e-mail nccf@nccfoundation.org.

The NCCF, incorporated in 1986, is a tax-exempt charitable organization. Since its establishment, the NCCF has distributed more than $17 million to the community through its various grant programs. It is an organization inherently committed to enriching the northern Chautauqua community and encouraging local philanthropy.  For more information on the NCCF, visit www.nccfoundation.org or call 716-366-4892.
