Scholarships Available for Adults Returning to College

Scholarships Available for Adults Returning to College

Many adults attend college to complete or further their higher education. However, one obstacle adult’s face is the lack of scholarships available to nontraditional college students. The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation can help! We have scholarships available to assist you in reaching your goals.

The Chadwick Bay NYS Women Inc. Scholarship

This scholarship is for women currently enrolled in college. The requirements are simple: completing one semester of college with a 2.5 or above GPA and an essay outlining educational goals. NYS Women Inc.’s mission is “to build powerful women personally, professionally and politically.” The organization meets this mission through its scholarship and builds on its vision “to make a difference in the lives of working women.” Visit nccfoundation.org/cb-scholarship for application, requirements, and additional information.

The Ruth C. Stacy Counselor Scholarship

Dr. Ruth C. Stacy of Mayville established this scholarship. A skilled mental health and school counselor herself,  Dr. Stacy was a strong advocate of the need for certified, experienced counselors. Students accepted into an accredited mental health or school counseling Master’s Degree graduate program are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. For additional information, requirements, and an electronic application, visit nccfoundation.org/stacy-scholarship.

The Benson-Cash Family Scholarship

This scholarship assists adults in or who have recently left the workforce and are applying for college or a trade school. Students may be changing jobs, retraining in their current position, looking to advance, or starting a new career path. For the application, additional information, and requirements, visit nccfoundation.org/bensoncash-scholarship.

Completed applications for these three scholarships are due to the NCCF by February 16, 2021. Mail application forms to 212 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk, N.Y. 14048 or fax to 716-366-3905.
