Give Big CHQ Registration Now Open

Nonprofit organizations located in Chautauqua County are invited to register for Give Big CHQ, a 24-hour online fundraising event scheduled for June 10.

Hosted by the Chautauqua Region and Northern Chautauqua Community Foundations, Give Big CHQ raises awareness and dollars for local nonprofit organizations. Since 2018, more than 2,500 individuals and businesses have come together to generate over $620,000 for nonprofits throughout the county.

“Give Big CHQ started as a way for nonprofits to easily collect online donations to support their missions,” said Liz Jones, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation community impact officer. “It has also become a fun and engaging event to bring the community together to help celebrate the important work of local nonprofits.”

As the loss of traditional fundraising events continues to be a challenge for many organizations, Give Big CHQ is an opportunity to raise essential dollars to support the nonprofits that make our region a strong and viable place to live.

Leslie Wille, Community Engagement Coordinator at Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, said, “Many of our local organizations have not been able to hold their regular fundraising events due to Covid-19. These organizations often depend on the funds generated from these events to support critical program operations. Give Big CHQ provides an opportunity to raise needed funding as well as to engage with donors and supporters as we continue to navigate these challenging times.”

For more information on this year’s event, or to register and create a fundraising page, visit givebigchq.org. The deadline to register is May 21. The staff at both Community Foundations are available to assist organizations in registering and create fundraising campaigns. For assistance, contact Jones via email, ejones@crcfonline.org or phone, 661-3390; or Wille via email, lwille@nccfoundation.org or phone, 366-4892.
