Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation proudly manages over 200 individual scholarship funds, a select portion of which are listed here, each with its own application. These applications can be returned to NCCF for consideration. For additional scholarship opportunities, please consult your school’s guidance department, as many scholarships are administered directly through the schools.

Thomas L. Barresi Memorial Scholarship
The Thomas L. Barresi Memorial Scholarship was established by the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce in honor and memory of its namesake. It benefits students in Chautauqua County who are pursuing degrees in either business or elementary education.
Terry Frazier Sr. No One Fights Alone Scholarship Fund
The Terry Frazier Sr. No One Fights Alone Scholarship Fund supports students, graduating from Dunkirk High School and Fredonia High School, whose lives have been impacted due to a loved one’s battle with cancer.
Fonda Sanford Kawski Scholarship
The Fonda Sanford Kawski Scholarship Fund benefits students pursuing a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant or other health paraprofessional that has the desire to work with patients needing hands-on care.
Matthew Hazelton Memorial Scholarship for Law Enforcement
The Matthew Hazelton Memorial Scholarship for Law Enforcement supports students from Brocton and Dunkirk who wish to pursue a career in law enforcement or criminal justice.
Ricky Burgstrom Music and Bowling Scholarship
The Ricky Burgstrom Music and Bowling Scholarship was established in 2022 by friends and family of Ricky. It is awarded annually to a graduating Fredonia senior who has participated in music and/or bowling during his/her high school career. Jeremy Dolce Memorial Scholarship
The Jeremy Dolce Memorial Scholarship benefits graduating Dunkirk seniors pursuing a career in the trades. It is available to students with plans to attend a trade or technical school or enter the workforce immediately upon graduation.
Bielat-Starwalt Family Scholarship
The Bielat-Starwalt Family Scholarship Fund supports Dunkirk students with plans to attend a Catholic college or university. Priority is given to applicants of Polish descent.
